A true value

So I’m in Cheyenne Wyoming for a few days working for a client. Cheyenne isn’t such a bad town even if the population is about the same as ASU. It’s a pretty miserable day though, mid 30s, overcast, and it’s tried to snow all day. All in all the people are good and the hotel bed is comfortable. I went to a place called Pizzeria Venti on 17th street. It’s across the street from Sanfords, another Cheyenne favorite. Now I’ve been to Pizzeria Venti before, the food wasn’t anything to write home about but it was good food at a decent price. Last time I was there, it was dead.
Not tonight, not even close. You’d think they were giving away calzones and pizza pie. Free beer? A plausible explanation. No, what was drawing the crowds of families was a good deal. Right there, on my table there is a little ad for family night. You get a pan pizza, unlimited salad, and drinks all for $20! And this isn’t some tiny pie, it’s a deep cookie sheet and it’ll feed a family of four. $20 for a family of say four at a decent place is a value proposition if I’ve ever seen one.
One thing I’ve seen is people are willing to pay when they see value in their purchase. Sure the economy sucks, but you can’t stay locked in a closet all day, you need to get out. Pizzeria Venti offered a great escape for a family and amazing customer service. The people are fantastic, the food does the job, and the dollar goes further than most places I’ve seen lately.
