Wal-Mart CEO Sees Long-Lasting Shift In Consumer Spending.
Even Wal-Mart admits that consumer spending habits have changed and probably won’t go back to the way they used to be. Gone are the days of buying until we’re blue in the face. Where we had to have it all and the fuller our garage/basement the happier we were. I truly hope people are saving more or using their money more wisely. Do you really need a new kayak? You’ll use it a few times and never again.
This fundamental shift in consumer spending habits and the declining economy are why we launched Crowd Rent. Local rentals, renting things in your neighborhood will replace the rampant desire to consume as people realize we can’t keep spending at this rate. I know, within a five mile radius, I could likely find anything I could ever need. And I could borrow it for a fraction of the cost of buying it. Give it a shot.
